Academics
Scholarships are extremely important. Sound Doctrine's program is geared to the average and above student. Students with learning difficulties experience frustration with the pace of the academics. Students will find a traditional approach to the "basic" and an emphasis on the value of striving for excellence and giving one's best. The school incorporates experiential learning along with traditional methods of teaching. All core classes will be approved by the NCAA so students will be eligible to play in Division I schools after graduating high school. Classes will be taught by teachers who meet the requirements so that the school will achieve accreditation within the time frame permitted by the accrediting body.
Homework is an important part of the overall program. Assignments reinforce concepts taught and help review an accumulation of previous work.
A number of activities throughout the school year enhance the academic climate at SDCA. Spelling Bees, Sword Drills competition, science projects, history projects, and research papers are vital parts of the total academic program.
Accreditation
Sound Doctrine Christian Academy is fully accredited with the Association of The Georgia Accrediting Commission, Inc. (GAC).
